Thought for the Day

On this first Sunday of Advent, the season of waiting, I offer this first stanza from Ted Loder's "We Watch and Wait for You":

Hidden God,
    wherever you are
      in your own kind of space,
        we watch and wait for you
          to startle us to wakeful newness
